The Reds are considering appointing Slot as their new manager, as current boss Jurgen Klopp is set to leave after almost nine years. Michael Edwards, a former sporting director at Liverpool, will become the CEO of football for the Reds’ owners Fenway Sports Group.

Edwards is now overseeing Liverpool’s football operations and leading the search for a new manager. He is also considering talent on the field, with interest in Pacho who came through the Independiente academy in Ecuador and currently plays for Royal Antwerp. The club is considering a move for Pacho, but it remains to be seen if he will be enticed by a switch to the Premier League.

Liverpool had been expected to appoint Sporting manager Ruben Amorim, but have now shifted focus to Feyenoord manager Slot. The club faces a potential major rebuild at Anfield, following their defeat by Everton and amid speculation about the futures of key players like Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk. This summer could mark a turning point for a team that achieved a lot under Klopp’s management.
