(Image: Getty) Gabriel Jesus is determined to stay at Arsenal and compete for a spot in Mikel Arteta’s team, amidst speculations about a potential departure this summer. Jesus joined the Emirates Stadium two years ago for a significant amount and was expected to be a crucial part of Arteta’s plans. In his debut season, he played a pivotal role for the team.
However, following a return from a knee injury, Jesus has struggled to play a full 90-minute match in the Premier League. He has only started four of Arsenal’s 10 league matches during this period, with Kai Havertz emerging as the preferred choice to lead the attacking line. Reports have suggested that Arsenal might consider letting Jesus go due to his injury setbacks.
Nevertheless, The Sun has stated that Jesus is settled at the club and is willing to fight for his place in the team. It is believed that Jesus is enjoying his time in north London, both on and off the pitch, and is confident in his ability to regain a spot in the starting XI. Additionally, manager Arteta still sees Jesus as a key member of the team, given his experience of winning the Premier League title.
However, if Jesus’ playing time does not improve, he could potentially fall further down the team’s pecking order. Potential transfer targets are being considered, including Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres, and even Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. Jesus will aim to make an impact this weekend as Arsenal continue their title push at home to Bournemouth.
