Jurgen Klopp, the current Liverpool boss, is reportedly being discussed for a potential new role at Borussia Dortmund next year. There has been increasing talk within Dortmund about the possibility of Klopp returning to the German club in a backroom position.

Klopp had previously enjoyed a successful tenure at Dortmund between 2008 and 2015, during which he won two Bundesliga titles and a DFB Pokal. He also led the team to the 2012-13 Champions League final. Since joining Liverpool in 2015, Klopp has achieved significant success, including winning the Premier League and Champions League. However, Klopp’s future beyond this summer is uncertain.

He has expressed a reluctance to immediately take up another managerial role, hinting at the possibility of never coaching again. Nevertheless, there are reports suggesting that Dortmund may offer Klopp the role of head of football from 2025 onwards, allowing him time to recuperate after his time at Liverpool. This potential appointment has raised some concerns among figures at Dortmund, who are wary of dwelling on past successes and are instead focused on building for the future. It remains to be seen whether Klopp would be interested in such a role at Dortmund.

He has expressed uncertainty about his future plans, stating that he cannot imagine managing a club or country at least for a year, but is open to exploring other opportunities. Klopp’s future decisions and Dortmund’s potential offer are subjects of significant speculation at this time.
