Some players were surprised to learn that Reece James would captain the club this season and Ben Chilwell was named as his vice-captain by Pochettino, which led to bewilderment among some stars due to Silva’s experience. Despite this, Silva promptly overlooked the matter and supported the team during times when James and Chilwell were injured.
Silva expressed his emotion on social media, announcing his departure from Chelsea while also hinting at aspirations to return to Stamford Bridge in a different role in the future. He expressed his gratitude for the four years at the club and his love for the team and fans.
He also mentioned his dream of returning one day. In his own words: “I think in everything I did here over the four years, I always gave my all.
But, unfortunately, everything has a start, a middle and an end. That doesn’t mean that this is a definitive end.
I hope to leave the door open so that in the near future I can return, albeit in another role here. But… it’s an indescribable love.
