Why was the game moved? The FA Cup remains Ten Hag’s last hope of silverware from an inconsistent season, and it’s his team’s run in this competition which led to the re-arrangement.
Their 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest in the fifth round, courtesy of Casemiro’s late goal, was the initial reason for the Sheffield United clash being postponed. The game between the two sides was originally scheduled for the much-debated Saturday 3pm blackout. Under current regulations, unless a fixture is moved from that time-slot specifically for television coverage, it cannot be shown live.
This may include adverts from us and 3rd parties based on our understanding. You can unsubscribe at any time. Read our Privacy Policy Therefore, as Wednesday’s game was moved purely because of a fixture clash, it is still subject to the blackout.
