Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly among the candidates to replace Erik ten Hag as Manchester United boss this summer if Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS decide to make a change. The 36-year-old could very well be interested in the opportunity, having made no secret of his admiration for the club.
His Germany contract expires after the tournament, opening the door to take up a club offer if he is satisfied with the terms. Reports have sparked that he is on United’s radar, with ex-United interim manager Ralf Rangnick recommending the former Bayern Munich boss to Old Trafford figures. Nagelsmann has hinted in the past that he would welcome an approach from the M16 giants before the European Championships commence. Ahead of taking his RB Leipzig side to United in October 2020, Nagelsmann admitted that he had relentlessly watched the club earlier in his life and expressed his excitement about entering the Old Trafford dugout.

Nagelsmann shared his anticipation about playing at Old Trafford, stating: “I’ve never played in Old Trafford or been there. It will be a great experience. I watched a lot of games in the Theatre of Dreams and of Manchester United on television.
Now, to be part of the stadium will be perfect.” Leipzig may have lost a game 5-0 against United, but later knocked United out of the group stage. It was a night to forget for Nagelsmann, but he could be back at the Theatre of Dreams sooner rather than later.
