Harry Kane Takes Jibe at Arsenal After Bayern Munich Draw at Emirates

On an enthralling night of European action, Bukayo Saka put Arsenal ahead before former Gunners youngster Serge Gnabry levelled the scores. Kane’s penalty put Bayern 2-1 ahead in north London, with the England captain scoring against his former north London rivals for the 16th time in his career. Trossard’s strike ensured Kane did not score the winner. Arsenal head to Munich for the second leg next Wednesday.

Kane was interviewed by broadcaster TNT Sports after the game. Several Arsenal fans stayed behind to taunt the striker and chant anti-Spurs songs in his direction. Harry Kane’s penalty was his 16th career goal against Arsenal. Asked by presenter Laura Woods about the attention from Arsenal fans, Kane looked towards the group of supporters and quipped: “I think they have a soft respect for me!”

The 30-year-old hinted that he knew Spurs fans would be keen to see him impress against Arsenal. Kane was left disappointed to have not scored the match-winning goal. He felt that there were a couple of errors made by his team-mates in the build up to Gabriel Jesus setting up Trossard. He said of Arsenal’s equaliser: “Obviously disappointment.

It was a tough game. Leading up to that goal we lost two of three duels in a row and then Jesus is really dangerous in the box with the chop he has and, unfortunately for us, he found Trossard there. “Overall, it was a really tough game and, of course, we are never happy when we don’t win – it was a tough point away from home.”
