Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson was caught spitting and picking his nose on the bench during his side’s 4-2 win away to Crystal Palace. The TNT Sports commentary joked he would be banned from their coverage as a result. The Brazilian, who did not start the game due to an injury, watched on as Stefan Ortega deputised in his absence.
Despite conceding two goals, Ortega managed to recover with a stunning piece of skill under pressure. The TNT Sports cameras then panned to Ederson on the bench, but he was in a compromising position at the time. Commentator Darren Fletcher stated that they would not show Ederson again, given his actions of picking his nose and spitting.
Ederson was on the bench during the game. The ball was played back to Ortega, who was under pressure from the opponent. However, a quick and skillful move from the goalkeeper helped him clear the ball and alleviate the pressure.
Early in the game, Mateta scored for Crystal Palace, but Kevin De Bruyne equalized for Manchester City. Rico Lewis then gave City the lead, which was followed by Erling Haaland extending their lead. De Bruyne scored another goal from range, while Odsonne Edouard scored a late consolation goal for Palace.
