Wayne Rooney has stated that despite being approached about a potential move into the boxing world, he is solely focused on returning to football management. Reports emerged that Rooney had been in discussions with Misfits, a promotional company founded by YouTube star KSI, regarding a move to boxing. Rooney, who has a strong passion for boxing and was previously a member of an amateur boxing club, clarified on the Stick to Football podcast by Sky Bet that Misfits had reached out to him, but affirmed that his primary goal is to re-establish himself in football management. Having recently been dismissed from his managerial role at Birmingham City after a disappointing stint in charge, Rooney expressed his desire to focus on returning to football, stating that he had seen the headlines regarding the potential boxing move but reiterated his dedication to re-enter management.
