Having recently been dismissed from his managerial role at Birmingham City after a disappointing stint in charge, Rooney expressed his desire to focus on returning to football, stating that he had seen the headlines regarding the potential boxing move but reiterated his dedication to re-enter management.
Rooney emphasized that he believes more time was needed at Birmingham to instigate the necessary changes, indicating that he was disappointed to have been let go after just 13 weeks in charge.
