Kulusevski and Bergvall share a dressing room at the international level, and the Swedish duo could be playing their club football together by the start of next season. The 17-year-old Kulusevski is already a senior international, an exciting talent, and a physical presence at 6ft 1in tall. With the January transfer deadline a matter of hours away, the north Londoners are believed to have stepped up their pursuit. According to the Swedish outlet Fotboll Direkt, Kulusevski was present and ‘acting as an ambassador’ for Spurs chiefs when Bergvall visited the club’s training facilities earlier this week.
Kulusevski is believed to have been a prominent presence in Bergvall’s visit to North London, and the familiarity of seeing an international team-mate could end up being enough to tilt the dial in Tottenham’s favor. Djurgardens have reportedly slapped a £17million price tag on the midfield maestro, Bergvall, who joined them just over a year ago. Bergvall was 16 when he made his professional debut and became a senior goalscorer just three months later. The youngster is believed to be back in his homeland mulling over his next move after holding extensive talks with Spurs and Barcelona.
Bergvall would not be able to join up with either side until the summer. Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou would dearly love to agree on the deal ahead of time and make sure Barcelona aren’t able to mount a response before the summer window swings open. It remains to be seen whether Kulusevski’s influence has done enough to swing the pendulum towards Spurs. The Lilywhites have already welcomed Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin to North London since the turn of the year.
Bergvall aside, there could be even more late activity conducted by Levy and technical director Johan Lange. Dominic Solanke and Conor Gallagher are still touted as possible incomings, while Alejo Veliz and Bryan Gil are expected to leave on loan.
