Graham Potter has reportedly turned down an approach from Ajax to become their new manager. This comes as Ajax is in search of a replacement for their current manager, John van ‘t Schip, who will be leaving at the end of the season. The Eredivisie club is in a difficult position, currently sitting in sixth place and needing a rebuild to regain their previous form in both domestic and European competitions.
Potter, who previously managed Swansea City and Chelsea, has been out of work for 12 months and is being selective about his next career move. His tenure at Chelsea was short-lived, as he struggled to manage a large squad and implement his possession-based system. Despite this setback, he has attracted interest from other clubs, with Manchester United being mentioned as a potential destination.
It is reported that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a shareholder at Manchester United, is keen on Potter and had previously tried to bring him to Ligue 1 with Nice. Ajax will now have to continue their search for a new manager as Potter has declined their offer.
