Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly increasing his efforts to bring in Dan Ashworth from Newcastle United to appoint him as Manchester United’s new sporting director. The Premier League confirmed Ratcliffe’s 25% stake in the club and an additional investment of £238m, following the completion of the Owners’ and Directors’ Test.
The Premier League also stated that the change in ownership structure has been officially ratified by an Independent Oversight Panel and is now awaiting confirmation of the transaction’s completion. This development has had a significant impact on the top four race, with Manchester United’s announcement blowing it open.
However, there is still work to be done before the transaction can be completed.
