Bruno Fernandes is an injury doubt for Monday night (Image: Getty). Everton and Luton Town kick off Gameweek 36 this evening. Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers have until 6.30pm to make changes to their squads.
Ahead of the weekend’s football action, several key players are facing doubts. Express Sport provides the latest injury news. Injury concerns are mounting at Old Trafford, and Erik ten Hag has revealed that Fernandes is uncertain for the trip to Selhurst Park on Monday night. The Portuguese playmaker, who has never missed a United match due to injury, is now carrying a problem.
Ten Hag did not rule his skipper out completely, stating, “he is a doubt for Monday, but he will fight to be a part of this game. Never rule him out for any game, and he is giving his best to be available.”
Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace) is also doubtful for Monday night after picking up a knock last week. The midfielder wanted to play against Fulham over the weekend, but manager Oliver Glasner decided against it to avoid risking further injury. Eze instead featured for Palace’s Under-23s on Monday, playing 62 minutes without any new concerns.
Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) is confirmed unlikely to feature in Gameweek 36. Ten Hag revealed that there is no set return date for his fresh injury, stating, “With Marcus, I can’t tell [when he will be back]. It was last week, after Coventry, and his issue hasn’t healed so far.”
Ederson (Manchester City) sustained a shoulder injury and was withdrawn at half-time in City’s win over Nottingham Forest last weekend. Pep Guardiola expressed pessimism about the issue, stating, “It doesn’t look good, we will see tomorrow with the doctor.” If Ederson is ruled out, the cut-price City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega (£3.7m) could become an attractive asset for FPL managers.
Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa) did not play in Villa’s recent defeat and remains a doubt for the clash with Brighton on Sunday due to a hamstring problem. Newcastle defender Trippier is hopeful of being fit for the team’s final match of the season against Brighton, as he continued his recovery from a calf injury in Dubai. Fabian Schar (Newcastle) is also facing an injury doubt after being replaced at halftime in last weekend’s match against Sheffield United.
