Dele Alli was part of the coverage on Monday Night Football. The Toffees midfielder was part of the studio panel, with his former boss Pochettino interviewed before the game. Pochettino was the manager who handed Dele his big break in the Premier League at Tottenham, with the pair reunited during the MNF show.
The Argentine coach was quick to praise his ex-player, claiming he was ‘so happy’ to see the Englishman. He continued: “I want to say hello to Dele. What a player, oh my goodness. [I am] so happy to you [Dele] there and so happy to see you all.”
The interaction left Dele with a grin from ear to ear, with the Everton man visibly pleased to have seen his former manager. Dele hasn’t featured for Everton all season. Speaking about his injury problems, along with his personal issues, he said: “I’m doing very well. It’s been almost a year now [since he’d spoken publicly].
“I’m feeling good, obviously injured, which is disappointing. I’m doing well. I think when I did that interview [with Gary Neville], I said it was the best I’d felt at that time.” Mauricio Pochettino gave Dele his break at Spurs.

He continued: “When I did that interview I said if I help one person that’s all I needed. “I had to do it for my own reasons, obviously. But to help one person was all I wanted and the reaction and support I got was definitely overwhelming.”
