Ruben Amorim, the manager of Sporting CP, has responded to questions about his future amidst rumors linking him to a move to Liverpool. The 39-year-old has expressed frustration with ongoing speculation about his potential appointment as Liverpool’s manager, following reports that he had agreed to take over the role. Despite being highly regarded for his work at Sporting CP, Amorim has made it clear that he did not meet with Liverpool for an interview and that no agreement has been reached. He emphasized his commitment to Sporting and stated that he will no longer address the subject of his future.
Despite Amorim’s denial, he remains a strong favorite to replace Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season. Additionally, he has been linked with a potential move to Barcelona, reflecting the recognition of his accomplishments in Portugal. Liverpool had initially considered Xabi Alonso as a successor to Klopp, but Alonso has opted to stay at Bayer Leverkusen, leading the club to view Amorim as the next leading candidate due to his success with Sporting. In addition to Amorim, Liverpool has also been linked to Roberto Di Zerbi from Brighton, but it is reported that they prefer a move for Amorim.
These rumors come amidst Liverpool’s search for a successor to Klopp, who will reportedly leave the club this summer.
