Manchester United have lost a player that Harry Maguire previously described as a ‘leader’. The defender, Axel Tuanzebe, was lauded by Maguire as a leader based on his performances on the field and his influence in the dressing room. Tuanzebe joined United as a schoolboy and made his first team debut in 2017. Despite early promise, he struggled to secure a regular starting place due to injury problems and was loaned out to Aston Villa, Napoli, and Stoke.
However, Tuanzebe is now playing for Ipswich in the Championship and is starting to get more game time, showcasing his talents in England’s second tier. Ipswich is currently second in the Championship table, and if Tuanzebe and his team-mates continue their strong performances, they could potentially return to the Premier League for the first time in over two decades.
