Manchester United have been sent back to the drawing board after reported target Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall insisted he has no plans to leave promoted Leicester.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is said to have ‘name-dropped’ the Foxes midfielder during discussions with the recruitment team at Old Trafford. Dewsbury-Hall has emerged as one of the Championship’s best players this season.
The 25-year-old has scored 12 goals and provided a further 14 assists for a Leicester side who have already clinched promotion to the Premier League and the Championship title with a game to spare. However, Dewsbury-Hall is intent on remaining with his boyhood club and helping them stay in the top-flight next season.
After receiving the Men’s Player and Players’ Player of the Season awards at the club’s prize-giving ceremony on Tuesday, he said: “I’ve been at this club since I was 8 years old. I’ve got no intention of leaving.”
Speaking about Leicester’s season, in which they could still claim 100 points, Dewsbury-Hall added: “I couldn’t really have asked for much more.
I set myself goals at the start of the season, the main one being to win the Championship. “I’m so, so happy that I’ve managed to have a positive impact on the season and come away with a bit of silverware.
It’s the best feeling in the world because you never know when you can get stuff like that. “The awards mean an awful lot.

“It makes me bursting with pride when I sit down and think about that.
It shows you that your hard work and determination is appreciated and that’s all you can ever ask for as a footballer. It is reportedly felt that the former Luton loanee would add high value and versatility in United’s midfield.
United are expected to be planning for a busy summer transfer window. INEOS are set for a major overhaul both on and off the pitch, with a wave of changes to be made to the playing squad and staffing hierarchy.
