Sporting Lisbon faces increased concerns as discussions of Ruben Amorim moving to Liverpool intensify

Ruben Amorim is being considered as the potential successor to Jurgen Klopp as the manager of Liverpool. Sporting Lisbon is preparing for a potential player exodus if their coach, Amorim, moves to Liverpool this summer. Amorim’s team recently secured a 1-0 victory against Famalicao, putting them seven points ahead in the Portuguese league with five games remaining.

They will also be competing in the Portugal Cup final, putting them on track for a historic double triumph. Three key players from Amorim’s team are attracting interest from Premier League clubs. Arsenal is interested in Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, who has scored 37 goals this season for both club and country.

Defenders Ousmane Diomande and Goncalo Inacio are also in high demand, and Sporting is expecting a player exodus this summer if Amorim leaves. Sporting has inserted buy-out clauses into the contracts of the key trio. Gyokeres is valued at £86million, Diomande for £68m, and Inacio for £51m.

It is anticipated that suitors will attempt lower initial bids if Amorim departs. Newcastle has had their eye on Diomande, while Inacio remains a target for Liverpool and could potentially join Amorim at Anfield this summer. Amidst the speculation, Amorim continues to downplay rumors of his potential succession of Klopp.

He has remarked that the important thing is for Sporting to be champions, despite any personal considerations.
