Following Xabi Alonso’s dismissal of the role, the Reds were said to be considering Ruben Amorim and Kovac as possible candidates. Speculation arose about Kovac, the former Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg boss, being linked to a move to the Premier League with Liverpool after leaving Wolfsburg.

Although there have been no formal negotiations with candidates, it is reported that Liverpool is conducting a thorough research process to gather data and information regarding potential successors to Klopp. Despite rumors intensifying, Kovac has dismissed the speculation, confirming that no talks had taken place.

Sporting boss Ruben Amorim was also considered a leading candidate, but he has similarly downplayed talk of a move to Anfield. Liverpool may have to reconsider their options as their candidates continue to distance themselves from the top job at Anfield.

Xabi Alonso, initially seen as the ideal successor, has committed his future to Bayer Leverkusen, and attention then turned to Amorim after his success at Sporting. However, both candidates have reiterated their focus on their current clubs.

Kovac has also denied any negotiations with Liverpool, despite his representatives searching for a job in the Premier League.
