Liverpool fans face difficult decision as Jurgen Klopp may bid farewell in European match at Anfield

Jurgen Klopp will be eager for a spirited atmosphere as Liverpool host Atalanta in their Europa League quarter-final. The fans, however, plan to stage a protest against the club’s decision to raise ticket prices. This protest will involve a refusal to wave pre-match flags, a traditional part of the Anfield atmosphere. The Spion Kop 1906 group expressed disappointment with the club’s pricing decision and announced their action in consultation with other fan groups.

The statement from Spion Kop 1906 revealed that the protest at the Atalanta game will not be observed during the Premier League match against Crystal Palace, held a day before the anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster. They plan to pay their respects with Hillsborough flags. Additionally, the group expressed hope for positive dialogue with the Supporters Board before their scheduled meeting. The fans also received news that if Liverpool make it to the Europa League final at the Aviva Stadium, the club will only be allocated 12,000 tickets out of the 48,000 capacity, with the remainder going on sale to fans worldwide through UEFA’s ticketing portal.
