Danny Murphy selects three matches that could shape the title race into a two-horse competition.

Danny Murphy recently expressed his support for a potential rule change in football, suggesting that teams should lose a player when their manager is sent off. He was quoted saying, “This is what we want from a Premier League title race,” and opined that the competition this season is turning into a real battle, with Arsenal in the mix. Murphy backed his belief by ruling Arsenal out of the Premier League title race due to three key upcoming fixtures against Tottenham, Manchester United, and Brighton. He predicted that these games will see Mikel Arteta’s side fall short and emphasized the competitive nature of the league.

Arteta also acknowledged the significance of these upcoming matches, hinting that they will prove pivotal but refused to downplay the importance of Arsenal’s games at the Emirates. He further noted that every game in the league is extremely difficult and anticipates a challenging competition against Brighton. Despite this, Murphy expressed satisfaction in seeing Manchester City under pressure and emphasized the need for competition in the Premier League. He also shared his admiration for City as a phenomenal team with a great manager but stressed the importance of a competitive title race.
