Jurgen Klopp has revealed that there is a ‘flu’ going round his squad, prompting him to lean on those coming through the Reds’ ranks. Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai are the latest stars to join the Reds’ growing list of absentees.
A case of the flu is also not aiding matters, prompting Klopp to turn to those coming through the Liverpool academy to bolster his numbers both on matchdays and in training. Koumas is the latest star to step up, with the teen being spotted in training. Lewis Koumas, the son of former Wales international Jason Kousmas, was recently spotted in Liverpool first-team training. Kousmas’ father endured a rollercoaster of a professional career, coming through the Liverpool academy before spending time with Tranmere Rovers, West Brom, and Wigan.
He was widely regarded as a top prospect with the talent to compete at the very highest level, but he never truly fulfilled his potential and eventually retired with 20 Wales international appearances. Despite being viewed as an enigma, Lewis Koumas has been praised for his brilliant performance and excellent character in the Liverpool academy. Liverpool’s youth manager, Barry Lewtas, has spoken highly of him, noting his versatility and massive progress this year.
