Aberdeen boss Neil Warnock expressed frustration after his team’s 2-1 defeat to Rangers. Goals from Rabbi Matondo and Todd Cantwell secured a winning start for the veteran manager’s new club.
Warnock criticized the tactics of the Rangers’ ball boys in the final minutes, accusing them of wasting time to hold onto the lead. He praised striker Bojan Miovski for his performance, highlighting his work ethic and goal-scoring ability.
Despite the loss, he was pleased with the referee’s decision not to change his mind during the match. Rangers boss Philippe Clement contemplated appealing against Dujon Sterling’s red card, which he felt was too harsh.
He emphasized the team’s unity and resilience during the challenging win, acknowledging the shift in belief and determination compared to a few months ago. Despite the red card, Clement noted that his team continued to push for a result and even had chances to score, though the dismissal made it more difficult to finish the game.
