Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has discussed the possibility of Jurgen Klopp replacing Xavi at the Nou Camp. Klopp is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, creating a high-profile vacancy at Barcelona.
Both Xavi and Klopp have announced their intentions to depart, citing various reasons. Deco refrained from commenting on the prospect of hiring Klopp, stating that it’s unethical to talk about a coach who has a contract.
He emphasized that the new technician at Barcelona must fit the club’s long-established philosophy and have the ambition and hunger to achieve great things. The club is considering various options, including Mikel Arteta, Hansi Flick, Jose Mourinho, and Thiago Motta, as potential successors to Xavi.
Klopp, who has been managing under high pressure for more than two decades, faces the challenge of potentially turning around Barcelona’s performance. Despite leading them to a La Liga title last term, Barcelona is currently eight points off the pace and has conceded more goals than any other top nine side this season.
